Springtime: I've lost my sleep. All day, all night I languish, which indicates that in my native parts Woodcocks and Lark are busy mating in their forest, The bear and lynx, awakening and move, has pulled their lair apart.

And shaking their self up,
    walks through a thicket
And frowns---
The world around is still too white.
They must be waiting eager for my visit,
Their fangs and claws bared, ready for a fight.

Let's walk together by a forest path
To living water,
To the fairy spring...
Afraid of animals ?
Afraid of the unknown ?
Afraid of the light ?
Afraid of this day ?
You've coped with me,
    dear heart,
What bear then to its knees can you not bring ?

We'll pitch our tent where fairy-tales begin
And breathe the wholesome air that heals and laves,
And listen to those yarns that hunters spin,
Yarns that can stir the dead up from their graves.
Our knapsacks beg to be strapped on our backs.
Dawn peeps into our cottage, pure and white.

Far beyond Europe
The bird-cherry's in bloom.
I've lost my sleep,
I languish day and night.
