sie wachsen langsam wie Weisheit, 
aber sie leben nicht so lange...

Politikerne burde se 
til eiketrær, de vokser sakte som 
visdommen, men de lever ikke så lenge...

Les hommes politiques 
devraient prendre exemple sur les chênes : 
ils croissent lentement comme la sagesse, 
mais leur durée de vie est plus courte…

Als ich einundzwanzig war,
hörte ich einen Weisen sagen:
Verschenke Kronen und Pfund,
doch gib dein Herz nicht hin;
Bewahre dir ein freies Gemüt –
sprich also lieber nicht mit mir...

Da jeg var ett og tjue år gammel
hørte jeg en vis mann si:
Gi bort kroner og pund
men ikke hjertet ditt;
Men hold fantasien din fri,
så ikke snakk til meg ...

er skadelig...
Det gjelder alle ting,
men særlig i politikk 
og penger...

Tener suficiente es felicidad...
Tener más de lo necesario
es perjudicial...
Esto se aplica a todo,

y al dinero...
